Starting: Jack F; Olivia B; Finlay; Ben; Olivia T; Jack W; Olly. the rest of the squad were rotated on throughout.

A great play from Kingswood to start us off, brave going into tackles, keeping possession and moving it around. every player was involved, before Olivia moved it to Jack who was over for the try. Broad Plain were a decent side though, first finding space on the right, then turning the ball over and working it well and swiftly up field for another. Kingswood moved relentlessly forward again and had Broad Plain back on their line for what seemed like an age! Jacob eventually found an inch and wriggled through, 2-2. Broad Plain struck again, but Alfred broke down the left, then moved the ball on to Ethan, who broke wide right and over. 3-3 at half time.

Alfred defensive effort won the ball for Kingswood after the away side restarted, and Kingswood worked the ball forward. Ethan found space and darted for the corner. Broad Plain levelled, but Ethan was over again after Zain C punched a hole through the defence. The next BP try was a peach, a neat dummy selling three Knights players the wrong way! Jack W forced his way forward and offloaded to Olly who moved wide and easily over. Broad Plain levelled, before another good spell of Knight's possession saw the ball moved from left to right and Olly was over in the corner again. As the home side looked for a winner, Broad Plain seized on a loose pass and nabbed a winning try - 7-8 the full time score.

Game 2

Starting: Ryan C; Zain V; George; Ethan; Sadie-May; Jacob; Ryan K

The Knights laboured with the ball and Broad Plain grabbed a loose ball for the first try. Zain C made some inroads in attack, then James muscled his way through. Broad Plain were committed in the tackle, sharp at grabbing loose balls, and nimble in getting forward. This was a deadly combination and the Knights soon found themselves 1-4 down, and then 1-5 down despite an excellent chasing effort from Sadie-May. She then found herself at the other end of the pitch after a good Kingswood passage of play, and was, agonisingly, almost over, but Broad Plain again snaffled the ball and broke for another score. 1-6 at half-time.

Broad Plain started off where they left-off and they got another score. Kingswood needed to rally and did. Ben made good ground, as then did Sadie-May and Ethan broke wide right into space and over. Zain made some solid tackles, making the visitors work for their next score, before Alfred got ball in hand and made a super-strong run, bouncing off Broad Plain efforts to tackle, managing to stay in play when wide and making the line. As Broad Plain looked to break again, Olly chased back and held -up his man, then James crashed in to drive the man out of play and make sure it was Kingswood ball. The Knights moved the ball well left to right, and Jack moved it to James who stormed over. Ben and Olly harried the visitors, won the ball and then moved it forward between them. Jack F burst down the right and was, literally, pushed out of play. The try to Kingswood saw the game end 6-9 - a very creditable second half performance.

A short extra game would end proceedings for the day. Jacob and Sadie-May worked well for the first Knights try, which was scored by Ethan; Alfred made a strong run for Kingswood's second, and Lily's tackle pushed BP into touch when they tried to hit back. She then did well going forward, setting up a try for James; and, finally, Olly made a good break but was just out of play before finding the line. 3-4 to Broad Plain come the whistle.

Bigging-up Jack W this week, looking stronger and more confident with the ball in hand and making some good passes. And well done to Lily who grew into the game after a little while away. Player of the day though was Jacob for his all round good play and tenacity.
