Great win by the Knights.

Ben, Jack F, Sadie-May, Alfred, Olly, Zain C, Will (Jacob)

The Knights started confidently, Ben, Jack and Ollie taking the ball into contact with good passing in between the breakdowns. Aretians nicked a loose ball and could have been away, but Olly made the saving tackle and got his man into touch. Aretians managed to get the ball and come forward again, but this time Will made a great tackle, winning the Knights possession. Ollie and Jacob got the Knights pressing in attack, and a clever pass just eluded Will, who would have been clean through! The hosts made some inroads of their own, but this time it was Alfred with a super tackle. Kingswood were organised in defence, Ben working hard to pressure Aretian's possession and force an error. And he would profit - Olly drifted wide then cut back in to feed Ben and he battled to the line for the opening score.

The Knights were diligent in defence once again after the restart, and Alfred won the ball after it was lost in a tackle. Zain C took the ball in hand and burst through the defence, Ollie took the ball from the tackle and cut left and when he was stopped Ben found a enough of a gap in the home back line to get through for another try. More solid Kingswood defence saw the line stepping up as one to win the ball again. Will burst through, and found Jack F who just ran out of space before he get over a line - another impressive play from the Knights. This continued without the ball, and Alfred made some top tackles before Jack F expertly nabbed a loose ball. Alfred made a cracking run and then the ball was moved to Olly who darted out right and got the try in the corner. Kingswood then shut out Aretians for a clean sheet at half time - 0-3 the score.

The Knights stayed committed in defence but couldn't stop Aretians grabbing the first try of the second period. From the restart Alfred moved the ball to Olly, and with a smart side-step he was away and over. Aretians hit back in the face of a strong Knights defence, Ben, Alfred and Will putting in the big hits. Big Zain C and then Jacob made driving runs, with Olly in again when the ball was cleverly popped to him for an easy score. The Knights pressured possession again, and a thumping tackle from Alfred saw a loose ball that he jumped on himself. Zain C drove forward again, and Sadie-May forced her way through to get on the score-sheet. More first-rate defence frustrated the home side, and Sadie-May showed her mettle and carried on getting stuck-in despite having taken a knock. Aretians were pushed into touch in their final attack, and the game ended 2-6.

Zain V, Olivia B, Finlay, Ryan K, Ryan C, James, George (Olivia T)

A solid tackle from James showed that this Kingswood line-up would be an equally tough nut, but couldn't stop Aretains nicking first blood in this game. Zain V made a strong run into home territory, and James then got space to cut-in and battle over for a leveller. Spirited Knights defence kept the home side at bay, but a stoppage for injury broke their rhythm and Aretains were over from the restart. Olivia T moved the ball to Olivia B who burst forward, and Ryan K was in support to make the attack count - 2-2. Aretians registered a score down the left before a strong run from Liv T made good ground. The ball was recycled and Rhyno Ryan Cox got to the line for the try. Ryan K made a great tackle, followed up by James who forced Aretians into touch. Quick ball caught the home side napping and James was quickly down the pitch. He found Ryan C on his shoulder who powered over in customary fashion. Aretains made a quick break of their own, their scorer just eluding James, who then did good work mopping-up a loose pass when the knights were in possession.Olivia B powered through, seeing off more than one tackle. She was held-up just short, but kept the ball in play - and James was on hand for the score. An Aretains break down the right saw the scores level at 5-5 at the break.

Olivia B and James got Kingswood up field from the restart. Zain V did well keeping the ball moving and Finlay nabbed a try. Olivia B again drove forward, and Olivia T then took the charge t make more ground, this time James profiting from their positive work. He then made a try-saving tackle - the ball broke in Kingswood's favour and Finlay ran from his own try line to the other, even pulling away from the chasing defenders at the end - A stonking run! Aretains clawed one back before George made a great tackle to stop an Aretains breakaway. They did grab another one back though, their man dancing through challenges, a good score. Olivia B restored a cushion this time going all the way after another powerful run. Ryan K did good defensive work to make Aretians work for their next score, before Rhyno gored his way through the line! James then broke away from deep for the last Knights try of the match. The home side nabbed one back late on, but it wouldn't take the gloss of the Kingswood victory, 9-11

Shout outs today to Alfred for an all action performance and Finlay for that run!

Player of the day though was Olivia T for her committed and brave play.
